Quality education for Zambia based on Christian values

August 2025

Yes, we missed the July report, and now August has nearly gone. Apologies! However, all continues to go smoothly with Limapela here in Zambia. The cold season seems to be over and we brace ourselves for the dust and heat of the most unpleasant season of our year. We look forward to the rains in October.

We have been blessed with many visitors. Students and teachers from St Paul's School, London, visited us in July, and this has strengthened the ties we already have with this well-known British private school.

10 runners in our Limapela Running Club participated in the 5 km race at the FNB Kopala Fun Run in Kitwe on 26 July. An estimated 6,000 participants and spectators were there and it was extremely well organised. Cephas Silungwe was placed and won a prize in his age group.

On the medical front, James Chiboni’s leg is healing well, and he is at last able to walk the 4 km from his home to school. Vanessa Fwalanga, a former member of the Kafakumba Singers, is now under treatment for Ménières disease, which affects both hearing and balance. We are now preferring to take our patients to private clinics to ensure effective treatment. This can be costly, so please consider supporting our medical fund.

The Lions Club of Nkana donated five boxes of books and invited our pupils to participate a chess tournament that they organised. Four of our secondary pupils participated and enjoyed it immensely.

Our thanks once again for your interest, prayers and support.

In July we were delighted to welcome the team from St Paul’s, UK, on their annual visit to Limapela School. Their visits have been a real highlight for both pupils and staff. The time was filled with fun, laughter, and connection as they engaged wholeheartedly with our students and the vibrant teaching and learning taking place. From classroom interactions to football games, the presence of the St Paul’s group brought encouragement and joy to us all. We are deeply grateful for their continued support and the relationships that grow stronger with each visit.
